Fatou Camara is set to pocket a lot of money from TRC

It seems Fatou Camara’s friendship with The Gambia’s justice minister, Ba Tambedou is beginning to pay dividend with a windfall in the form of an employment on the horizon.

Sources close to the Ministry of Justice revealed that the famous journalist, who helped entrench Jammeh in power, is set to make millions of Dalasi from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC).

Fatou’s minister buddy is allegedly planning on recruiting her to head the commission’s communications department.

A source said: “She will make millions of dalasi if she is appointed. The TRC is likely to be well funded by international organisations and foreign governments.”

Although Fatou’s appointment is yet to be finalised, it has already sparked outrage among Coalition critics and left Barrow supporters struggling to defend the journalist’s eligibility to be a member of the commission.

However, in an interview with US-based Freedom Radio, Fatou said:  “I am qualified for the job and there is nowhere in the constitution that bars me from working with the commission.”
