Fatou Camara under fire for calling Fula APRC supporter foreigner

Journalist Fatu Camara is no stranger to stirring up controversy.

But with one of her latest Facebook posts, many are saying she has gone too far, after suggesting that a Fula APRC supporter, Muhammed Jallow is “non-Gambian”.

According to her, Jallow, who supports Jammeh’s reelection bid, is one of the foreigners registered to vote tomorrow.

“I hope IEC stops non Gambians from voting,” wrote Fatou.

The reaction

Her post has been garnering a huge and overwhelmingly negative response online.

“Typical tribalist post...judging the nationality of a person base on his tribe,” commented Cherno Al-Amin S Jallow.

Omar Jallow added: “Blie, Fatou you are very stupid. How did you know that he is not a Gambian?”

One of Fatou’s followers on Facebook, Che Jallow disclosed that Muhammed Jallow is a bona fide Gambian.

“He is non Gambian because he is fair in colour? I know this bro from roots, his dad went to the Burma War for The Gambia, first Field Forces, Alhajie Muniru Jallow. No to tribalism this is what we fighting for. So please.”

Fatou is yet to apologist for her deplorable post.
