Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow’s decision to wear sunglasses while having dinner with the Queen has been labelled as disrespectful.
The First Lady and her husband, President Adama Barrow were the Royal Family’s special guests at a state dinner for Commonwealth Heads of State in Buckingham Palace.
It was Fatoumatta’s first time in the palace. Many were shocked that she kept her glasses on as she sat with the Queen, Prince Charles and Prince William.
Some Gambians Facebook users said the First Lady broke the royal protocol.
Fatoumatta, who was a housewife before her husband’s election victory, started wearing sunglasses less than one year ago and since then she is rarely seen without them.
