A struggling Bundung widow and her children will soon move into a new house thanks to the generosity of First Lady Fatoumatta Bah-Barrow and other sympathetic donors.
Kaddy Saidy's husband passed away in ten years ago and since then the family has been struggling and living in a dilapidated house.
The councillor of Bundung, Sulayman Jammeh speaking to What's On-Gambia said: "The woman's house is in very bad shape and in dire need of repair. But with the intervention of the First Lady, she will now be provided with a new house."
He added: "The First Lady has donated bags of cement, trips of sand and corrugated iron sheets for the project."
Former lady councillor, Amie Jatta, who is coordinating the project, thanked the First Lady for her generosity.
In an interview with QTV, Kaddy disclosed that in the past years whenever it rained, she and her children had to move their belongings to dry spots as their roof was leaking.
The new house is expected to be completed before the arrival of the coming rains.
The First Lady has been very proactive in helping the sick and poor throughout The Gambia.
