Mariatou Sarr, a third year Student at the University of the Gambia (UTG) was crowned Miss West Africa-Gambia at Djembe Beach Hotel on Friday.
“It has been a long journey and definitely I have worked so hard for this pageant. I will, first of all, thank our creator for giving me good health, confidence and the strength to be able to accomplish my heart desire. I didn’t skip the ladder; it all started at Armitage Senior Secondary School,” she said.
The former Armitage student has an amazing track record in pageantry as she was crowned Miss Armitage and Miss CRR in 2015.
Mariatou said she could not have achieved all this without the support of her family and friends, especially her mum who was always praying for her and Isatou Bokum, her coach.
The 5ft 6in gorgeous slim sent a message of appreciation to the CEO of BIDDYS Promotion, Ida Bidwell, her Facebook fans and to her colleagues at the university.
