Gambia mang easy! Benjahmin absconds to Germany after COP21 appearance

When a man looking to find water meets a well on his way, what happens? Put this question to singer Benjahmin and he would clear his throat before telling you: Gambia mang easy.

The famous Brikama-based reggae singer is apparently not returning home anytime soon after he reportedly vanished from Paris, where he made a guest performance at the recently held United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 21).

He was among a group of musicians who were invited to France to take part in the African Youth Day – a special day set aside by the Africa Youth Initiative on Climate Change (AYICC) to reflect on the impact of climate change in Africa.

Shortly after completing his mission in the French capital, Benjahmin headed to Germany, where he has already started performing in night clubs and pubs. According to one of his Facebook posts, on the 15th January, he will be having a gig at Babasu, a pub in Duisburg.

A source close to the Soon or Later hit maker told What’s On-Gambia: “I don’t think he is coming back home soon. You know how most Gambian artists do it when they have the opportunity to enter Europe.”
