Gambian association in the USA donates food to 250 families

The Atlanta Gambia Emergency Relief Association (AGERA) under the leadership of Haddy Jallow-Krubally has taken the lead again and donated food to 250 families in need in The Gambia.

The association's marketing chairperson, Mariam Hydara, popularly known as Yam Bomse, said: "We sent 250 bags of rice and 30 boxes of sugar cubes equivalent to 750 packets."

She continued: "Q-Group also donated 250 crates of water bottles through AGERA and this was included in our distribution."

According to Yam, the items were all handed over to the Gambia Red Cross for distribution to needy families across the country.

"The Red Cross is a reputable organization and has a vast network. They know the target areas that need aid. As an emergency relief association, it’s AGERA’s duty to be there for the community during these trying times," she said.

AGERA's relief efforts started in Atlanta where food care packages were delivered to over 100 Gambian households.
