Gambian Child makes history with new music video

Gambian Child is setting records with his new music video,Dalaba.

The video, a response to rumours that his uncle, O’Boy was arrested for their controversial single,Imam, dropped on the 23rd January, after weeks of build-up.

As of Tuesday, 29th January, Dalaba garnered more than 120,000 views, pushing it past Nobles’ Mosanam, which is still struggling to reach 50,000 views on the American video sharing website.

Gambian Child’s success caught the attention of many Gambian music enthusiasts around the globe. One Kawsu Gassama commented on YouTube: “This boy is very talented, am in love with this song.”

Scotland-based former Gambian music promoter, Serign Sanneh wrote: “Currently, Gambian Child is definitely the most talented artist in The Gambia, hands down. The song was well crafted and not rushed. You can tell a lot of time and energy has been invested in this project.”

Yahya Konte, who claims to be a Guinean, said: “I am enjoying the music. I am your big fan.”
