A former student of the Gambia Methodist Academy has made the country proud in Ghana where she made history with her academic feat.
Fatoumatta Jallow emerged the overall best student at Marshalls University College’s first graduation ceremony held in the Ghanaian capital on Saturday.
She wrote on Facebook: “Being named as the overall best student is with no doubt a big honour. Am deeply humbled.”
Fatoumatta’s friends also took to the social networking site to drop their congratulatory messages.
Former student union president at the University of The Gambia, Ansumana Bojang said: “Your success is not a surprise! It's well deserved and will give a chance to spread your wings.”
He continued:” Please join me in congratulating Fatoumatta Jallow as she graduates today. Bsc (Summa Cum Lauda) Accounting. She is also the valedictorian class of 2018 at Marshalls University College. This amazing lady recently bagged her professional certificate in Accounting and now a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG).”
One Cyril Archibong Ansa also wrote: “Congratulations to you dear, may you continue to be a blessing to others as you move farther places where queens and princesses will surely come to you as a testimony of your undying faith, hard work, dedication and enthusiasm...you will soar to greater heights and prosper in success.... Am glad you made it dear."
Fatoumatta was among 127 students that received their degree certificates in front of a crowd of more than 1000 people.
