Liverpool star Sadio Mane is undoubtedly the most popular Senegambian international footballer among Gambians.

Now, rumours are swirling that he once lived in Brikama before moving to Dakar to chase his football dream.

An England-based Premier League enthusiast told What’s On-Gambia: “I heard he was partially raised in Brikama.”

Sadio was born in the village of Bombali in Sedhiou Casamance. In a recent interview with a British newspaper, the Liverpool star revealed he made the journey to the Senegalese capital when he was just 15.

But he did not mention anything about Brikama.

The Liverpool forward, who earns more than D5m a week, is right now the most talked about African footballer in Europe.
