GAMBIAN WITH COURAGE: She’s a bright young Gambian lady living in Edinburg, Scotland. Fatou Baldeh recently completed her Master’s Degree in Sexual and Reproductive Health at the Queen Margaret's University.
She did a post-graduate research on Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), a practice that is still performed in some parts of The Gambia. Fatou’s research recommendations have now been adopted byScotland’s National Health Service (NHS).
The young activist is actively involved with Dignity Alert Research Forum (DARF), an organisation that champions the rights of women and young people in Africa and the UK, especially those affected by forced marriages and FGM.
Fatou's journey is truly inspiring. Please join us in congratulating her and wishing her the very best of luck with her career.
