Ida Ceesay is a cancer survivor. She feared the worst when she was diagnosed with the disease in 2013. 

The brave young woman underwent treatment in the USA, and now she is cancer free. Ida said: “The key to cancer survival is early detection.”

Her experience with cancer made her realized how important it is to increase awareness of the disease, especially in developing countries like The Gambia. Ida is the founder of Fighting against Cancer in Africa. Her mission is to encourage early detection and treatment of breast cancer and other cancers by giving information and emotional support.
