GAMBIAN WITH COURAGE: Ndey Bassin Jobe is a social activist who, in her very young age, has achieved remarkable success.
At the age of 10, she joined Voice of the Young and was selected to head the children’s group in 2012. Ndey Bassin was also the host of a radio talk show on children sponsored by UNICEF and coordinated by the National Youth Council.
The 18-year-old represented The Gambia at the United Nations 58th Commission on the Status of Women held in New York, USA.
When she returned from the USA, her mind started exploring what good things she can do in her community. Ndey Bassin created her own foundation. Last year, the foundation successfully organized a National Children's Summer School that was supported by the Office of the Vice President and the US Embassy Banjul, The Gambia.
Despite the many challenges young women face in The Gambia, Ndey Bassin is no quitter. She is one of the outstanding girls in the country.
Let’s show her some love! THUMBS UP!
