Kodou Jeng–Gaye is unquestionably one of The Gambia's leading female transmission engineers with over 15 years’ experience in the telecommunications sector.

She has a wide range of expertise in both fibre optic and microwave transmissions.

The mother-of-one started her illustrious career with The Gambia's leading telecom giant, GAMTEL back in 2002 and rose through the ranks to become the Transmission Manager of the company for over 5 years.

She has had several training programs at reputable institutions in The Gambia, Europe, and Asia where she left long lasting impressions thus earning her huge commendations from both trainers and seniors at work.

When asked about her experience as a woman and an engineer in a developing world, Kodou’s response was “working as an engineer and a mother is somehow challenging but determination and hard work has always kept me going with the belief that nothing is impossible and that what a man can do, a woman can do it better.”

Kodou is currently pursuing a degree program at the Ghana Technology University College in Accra and her vision upon return is to establish an “All Girls Tech Organization” that will encourage and nurture young girls into choosing Engineering as a specialty over jobs in the commerce field which to her will immensely contribute towards nation building.
