Countless Gambians and football pundits took to social media to heap praise on the U-20 goalkeeper Lamin Saidy on his brilliant performance during the WAFU Zone A Cup of Nations final on Sunday.
The Baby Scorpions managed to defeat host Senegal in a penalty shootout following a 2-2 stalemate after extra-time at the Stade Lat Dior in Thies.
Pato Jallow wrote on Facebook: "Lamin Saidy saved us. He really deserves to be called to the senior national team. He will be better than the current goalkeeper, Alagie Jobe(Toldo)".
Omar Jatta in London also wrote: "Round of applause to U20's goalkeeping hero, Lamin Saidy. He showed great composure and confidence throughout the tournament, and his heroics in the penalty shootout was testimony to his promising ability and calmness."
"Am proud of you Lamin, keep the going strong and faithful. You already an aspiring legend bro," wrote another fan, AbdoulieTambedou.
