Mamma Kandeh’s Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) is set for a landslide victory in The Gambia’s National Assembly election, even though his critics continue to peddle lies that he is funded by the former president.
The country’s newest opposition party is now more popular than it was in the Presidential Election.
While many political parties are still struggling to select their candidates, GDC is already touring the country to introduce their candidates in the April 1st National Assembly Election.
According to one of the party’s ardent supporters in the Diaspora, Samba Bah, they will be conducting meetings in Illiasa, Nyang Sanjal, Kaur, Saloum and Wuli.
He said the GDC candidates are expected to familiarise themselves with their constituencies and articulate their plans and packages if elected, and the developments they'll bring in helping better the lives of their constituents.
In an interview with What’s On-Gambia, GDC’s national youth mobiliser and candidate for Jeswang, MC Cham Jnr. revealed that majority of their candidates in the National Assembly Election are young people and women.
“We are working hard for every vote, we take absolutely nothing for granted,” he said.
