The weekend that was for Gambian foreign-based players

Bakary Jatta and Demba Savage contracts up in the air, cup wins for Pa Dibba, Ous Jallow and Jack Jagne. League defeats for AC Horsens and Stabaek. Pa Omar Babou and Gaira Joof continues to excel in Israel whilst there was a huge win for Emil Sambou and Alagie Bah's Santos FC......

China

Steve Trawally and his Yanbian Funde side are in the final touches of their preseason before they return to China to kick start their 2017/2018 Chinese super league journey. On Saturday they were beaten by Gangwon FC 2-1 but that never stopped Steve from scoring, making it four goals in six games in their preseason.

Israel

Gambian duo Pa Omar Babou and Gaira Joof continues to make name for themselves in the Israel U19 category. Pa omar was man of the match when he scored against the champions, Maccabi Haifa to share the spoils. In 16 games the former U20 captain scored ten times and assisted a record of nine times.

Gaira Joof scored twice and assisted two goals as they came from behind to beat Bnei Sachnin 5-3.

Swedish cup

Norrköping vs Hammarby -A perfect first half performance from Bajen gave them a commanding lead before the break. Pa Amat Dibba gave the Stockholm based club the lead when he connected to score from a right hand cross. The home team tried to comeback but Hammarby hold on their nerves to win 3-2.

Kristianstad vs Dalkurd FF  - Jack Jagne played full 90 minutes as his Börlänge side won their first cup tie match with 3-1.

Elsewhere in Finland Ousman Jallow replaced Morelos in the 45th minute as his side HJK beat Grankulla IFK 3-0 in the Soumen cup.

Caf Competition

Madi Fatty of Niary Tally beat academy boy’s Apejes 2-1 at the Stade Demba Diop but they were eliminated on goal difference with the aggregate tied at 2-2.

In Rabat Yusupha Njie came from the bench to inspire Fus Rabat to beat Johansen FC 3-0 in the Caf Champions league preliminary rounds. The Gambian scored in the 78th minute.

Bangladesh

Dawda Ceesay has joined Mustapha Jatta at Dhaka Mohammedan sporting club and the duo lost in the ongoing Sheikh Kamal international club cup against MMC on Sunday.

Spain

A Mario goal was enough for Girona to beat Alasana Manneh Barcelona Juvenil A.  Morro started the game though and ended it despite their defeat the Barca A team still leads the De Honor Juvenil table.

Malaysia

Mahamadou Sumareh’s Malaysian side, Pahang FA heaped pressure on league leaders when they put six goals into the net of bottom place club Pulau Pinang on Saturday. Sumareh opened the scoring in the 16th minute, a low connection.

On the other hand Futty Danso Kelantan FC were beaten by league leaders Kedah 1-0.

Denmark

An 80th minute penalty from Helenius was enough for Silkeborg to beat Buba Sanneh's AC Horsen upon the start of the second half of the Superliga.

Belgium

Sv Roeselare vs Antwerp - Back to back defeat for Ibou Sawaneh SV Roeselare is making them to lose ground with the league leaders. Their recent defeat was a home defeat to second place team. The white and black searched for an equaliser after falling behind and in the 49th minute Ibou tapped an unclear piece to the net. Ochieng Omollo 78th minute goal was enough as promotion is slipping from Roeselare.

Italy

Spezia v Trapani:  If you think it's only Bayern Munchen scoring at the death of games then you must be mistaken. For a second succession Lamin Jallow Trapani rescued a point in the 90th minute from an own goal by De Col to earned them a 2-2 draw. 

Kenya

Kariobangi Sharks strikers Masoud Jumaand  Ebrima Sanneh picked up injuries during the week and weren't available when sharks took on Sportpesa Allstars to a goalless draw on Sunday afternoon.

South Africa

Tony de Nobrega's 25th minute’s substitution before the Cape derby ended provided a dividend. The trio of Smith, Alagie Bah and Emil Sambou produced efforts to take home a huge win against old foes at the Athlone stadium. Smith's lone goal was enough to move the people's club from the bottom of the league.

Senegal

Week 11 of the ligue1 of Senegal saw Linguere beat Mbour Petite 3-1 at  Stade Mawaxe wade stadium. Modou Lamin Manneh gave the host the lead and Mbacke Sow second half brace was enough for Linguere. Alagie Jobe aka Tolda keep his 100 % home record without losing and have only conceded two penalties at home in six games.

Transfers 

Hamburg SV head coach Markus Gisdol was asked about gambian starlet Bakary Jatta's future in Friday’s press conference ahead of their match against Freiburg. Gisdol said Jatta will be loan out to get more playing time and experience before getting back to the team. According to the coach, it's recommended for him to have that development step. Nonetheless the Red Bull club are hoping that Bakary will be with them in the future because he signed a three years deal. Bakery was included in the 18 man squad for a record of sixth time but fail to make any appearances in neither the Bundesliga nor the DFB. On the other hand he have appeared six times with the U21 team and bagged ten goals to his name.

Hamburg U21 had their weekend game cancelled but the club managed to arranged a test match against VFR Neumunster whom they beat 7-1. Bakery scored a brace with his second goal been a header in the 52nd minute. During the winter transfer a 2. Bundesliga and Regionalliga club came knocking Hamburg doors for a loan but he was never released.

Göteborg based club BK Häcken welcomes back Demba Savage upon his return from Finland where the player took a break after admitting that he was dealing with personal issues.  Both Demba and the club's sport director to some extend admitted that the gambian midfielder can move provided that there is a buyer. On Demba's side the player is concentrating 100% with BK Häcken. Demba didn't feature in the clubs cup tie against Nörrtälje, after missing ten days of preseason in dubai.

Trials

Gambian Duo Alieu Ceesay and Abdoulie Cho Manneh had a one week trials with division one club Oskarshamn Aik. 

The 29 year old number nine Cho Manneh did play in Finland's fourth division in 2015 and scored 25 goals in 20 matches in a record breaking golden boot winner.

Alieu Ceesay played for BK -46 & FC Honka both in Finland that of second and third division league when he left from Hawks. The 21 years central defender is 196 centimeter long.

Alieu got some minutes under his belt when Oskarshamn recorded their preseason win over Sleipner.

Other Gambian in their rank is Momodou Cham whom they signed during the january transfer market for a two year contract from Norvalla FF.
