The owner and manager of Chop Shop Restaurant along Kairaba Avenue, Mina Jallow has been named Female Entrepreneur of the Year at the 1st Empretec Business Award Dinner held recently at the Kairaba Beach Hotel.
Shortly after receiving the award in front of his family, friends and members of the business community, Mina took to Facebook writing: “There is nothing more fulfilling than your efforts recognised and appreciated. That moment when money didn't mean much. So I want to thank every Gambian for their support, Giepa, Empretec and Government of The Gambia for giving us hope.”
The mother-of-two, who is married to former Standard Newspaper columnist, Latirr Carr, added: “Special thanks to my support system (my family) and to my ever supportive husband Latirr Carr for encouraging my endless ideas and rendering your assistance selflessly. I love you all.”
Mina is one of the few young Gambians in the restaurant industry. Since its launch, Chop Shop has become one of the most celebrated restaurants in The Gambia.
Congratulations, Mina Jallow!
