US-based Banjulian semester wants to be Gambia’s next president

With Adama Barrow, a former supermarket security guard in England, now the country’s president and commander-in-chief, the stage is set for many Gambians in the Diaspora to consider throwing their hats into the ring for president.

The latest semester to consider vying for the country’s highest office is US-based Banjulian, Ahmed Mansour Njie.

He is the founder of Anda Taxawu Banjul – an organisation he is planning to register with the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) as a political party.

According to a source, who claims to be close to Mr Njie, he lives in Tampa, Florida with his family.

However, the source, who also lives in the USA, refused to disclose details on the presidential aspirant’s educational and professional background.
