The former couple met on the Qcell chat forum, Q Bantaba when Sainabou was in Grade 11 at Masroor Senior Secondary School in Old Yundum. After two years of dating, they tied the knot in 2014 and she moved to live with Bob at his family home in Latri Kunda Piccadilly.

"After getting married, Sainabou embraced the hijab lifestyle," said a source.

According to the source, who begged for anonymity, Bob financially assisted his wife to start Saacs Designs, which is now one of the biggest Gambian-owned fashion and beauty companies.

The former couple, who have two children together Aisha and Fatima, were famous for always wearing matching outfits at public events.

But their marriage began to sour after allegations that Bob raped Sainabou's then 15-year-old sister who was staying with them.

They parted ways in 2020 and she dragged the businessman to Cadi Court in Kanifing demanding D100,000 every month in child support and Iddah - this is the period a woman must observe after a divorce, during which she may not marry another man.

"I don't know if Bob was paying the D100,000, but he was giving her D10,000 every month as child support before his incarceration," said our source.

The businessman was later arrested and thrown into Mile 2 prison after Sainabou's younger sister told police in Bundung that he raped her.
