Multi-award-winning rapper Hussain Dada is facing criticism after a video of him kicking a fan went viral on social media.
The incident occurred on Saturday at An2’s Fuwaro Legacy concert at QCity, where thousands of Gambian music enthusiasts had gathered. In the footage, Hussain Dada is seen kicking a fan while shouting, “F** you, f*** you, pussy world,”* sparking outrage online.
As backlash mounted, the rapper took to TikTok to explain his actions, claiming the individual in question was not a true fan.
“Even the most disciplined and quiet person can lose it when boundaries are crossed,” he said. “I heard him saying a lot of things, but I stayed calm because I was performing.”
Hussain Dada alleged that the fan insulted his mother, which led him to react aggressively.
“I don’t play about my mum,” he said firmly.
Hussain Dada remains one of Gambia’s top rappers, known for multiple hit songs. His recent QCity show was a sold-out success.
