The girl accused of setting up a fake Facebook profile to deceive and lure men has spoken to What’s On-Gambia. During a telephone interview, Sister Moura vehemently denied owning the profile, Princess Mary.

Is that a Gambian name?

Not really! I was named after a Catholic sister.

 Are you Gambian?

I was born in Guinea Bissau, and moved to The Gambia when I was eight. My parents are from Bissau.

Are you now based in Bissau?

After my senior secondary at Ndow’s, I moved to Bissau to live with my family.

Now to the big question, who is the owner of the fake profile Princess Mary?

I don’t know much about that profile. I was not aware of anyone using my photos to open a profile. A friend called to inform me.

..and what did you do?

I sent the person (Princess Mary) a message to ask why he was using my photos. He told me to keep calm and he will tell me one day. I insisted that he should delete all my photos, but he refused.

He said he is out to expose older men following young girls, and thought my photos can help in attracting them.

So ‘he’ is a man?

Yes, I think he is a man.

But how comes ‘he’ was giving men your mobile number?

Exactly, this is someone very close to me. Someone that has my contact details.

According to our sources, you always hang around the Senegambia area during the tourist season. Is that true?

No way, that’s not me. I am in Guinea Bissau, even those days that I was in Gambia I don’t even go around Senegambia.  

Do you date older men?

Never! I only date men in my age group.

What is your honest opinion about Gambian men?

I know nothing about Gambia men. I was a student - I go to school and come back home. So if I tell you that I know something about Gambian men then I am lying.

Are you single?

No, I am having a boyfriend here in Bissau called Basque and I love him so much and he loves me too.

What message do you have for the person that was using your photos to run a fake profile on Facebook?

My grandfather said he will not let this matter stop here, since the person wanted to spoil my image. We will not also let him or her go like that.

My grandfather will take the matter to the biggest "njalang" of Guinea Bissau to destroy the person who had been using my pictures and his family. We are real Balanta mixed with Manjago!
