Jamaican dancehall star Spice has apologised after video footage emerged online of her talking bad about Gambian woman.
The controversial singer faced a massive backlash after she was filmed saying the majority of women in The Gambia bleach their skin.
"She's is a fool for badmouthing Gambian women. What does she know about The Gambia? She only came once," commented one Aisha Jallow on the What's On-Gambia Facebook page where the video was shared.
Spice later took to Instagram to apologise. She wrote: "I see a few people saying they didn't like what I said about Gambian women, that some of them bleach. So If I offended anyone I'm sorry."
She added: "Gambia, I got mad love for you.”
According to the dancehall queen, she was misinformed by some young women she met during her debut appearance in the country.
Spice is the first Jamaican female superstar to perform in The Gambia. Her concert attracted thousands of reggae enthusiasts from different parts of the Greater Banjul Area and West Coast Region.
