President Adama Barrow has sacked the managing director of NAWEC, Baba Fatajo, making the 53-year-old the latest to be pushed off the bus.
The Gambian leader immediately named Europe-trained engineer Alpha Robinson as his replacement.
While the precise reason for Fatajo's removal has not been disclosed by the State House, many believe his wife's strong opinions about Barrow and his leadership played a part.
Ramou is an active member of the United Democratic Party.
"Heads up Saidy Fatajo 'door nan potit insha Allah. A proud technocrat," she wrote on Facebook shortly after her husband's sacking was announced.
The controversial woman, who is famous for her online wars with critics of her husband, claimed the former NAWEC boss is highly educated and would soon bag a lucrative job.
"He has more qualifications than one can ever need," she told her Facebook followers.
Fatajo was appointed in 2017. During his two years at NAWEC, he has done very little to fix the country's electricity problem.
