Jamaica’s Tenza wows concertgoers in Brikama with sexy stage outfit and lap dancing

Reggae lovers in Brikama left the Jokor Garden and Boxba mini-stadium with smiling faces after witnessing the town’s first over-the-top sexy performance in 2013.  The artist onstage was Jamaican newcomer, Tenza.

On the 16th February she was the opening act for reggae giant, Peetah Morgan at Jokor and on the following day he was at the fourth Briks-Tone Festival at the Boxba.

At Jokor, the audience seemed a little bit relaxed. She was completely new to them but it wasn’t long until she got the crowd going.  She called Brikama-born DJ, Chris Goldfinger-Gambia up on the stage for a lap dance – much to the delight of screaming Brikamians.

At Boxba, the upcoming star exerted all her energy into her performance. He disclosed to the wild crowd that she is single and looking for a Gambian man.

“I want a Gambian man.”

She later dragged a Brikama reggae singer on the stage for her second lap dance in the town.

“Do you think he can handle me?” she asked the screaming crowd.

The fans at both Jokor and Boxba had nothing but compliments for her.  A photographer, Ousman Sabally described her as one of the sexiest dancehall singers.

Shortly before her Jokor appearance we caught up with her for a quick chat;

What’s On-Gambia: Who is Tenza?

Tenza: My real name is Jahseen and I was born in Jamaica on the 25 July, 1985. Now I’m based in London. I started singing in 2003. Music is in my family, but my inspiration is Bounty Killer.

Is this your first appearance in Africa?

No! I was in Uganda last year to promote my music.  So Gambia is my second African country.

What do you think of the country?

Feels like home! The food, the people and everything is like Jamaica.

What are you looking forward to during your stay?

Connection with the people of The Gambia, promote my music, learn and educate.

Any favourite Gambian artists?

(Short pause)..I think it will be T Small. I was in the studio with him and I was impressed.

Looking forward to your performance!

Thanks!
