Lebanese manager accused of racism for saying Gambians don’t know how to use toilet paper

A US-based Gambian, who is currently in the country on holiday with his family, has accused a Lebanese manager at the La Parisienne restaurant of racism for saying Gambians don't know how to use toilet paper.

Sainey Dabo disclosed: "A Lebanese man, who they said is one of the managers, refused to provide toilet paper in the toilet saying Gambians don't know how to use it."

According to him, when he pressed the manager on why they were not keeping their restrooms supplied with sanitary products, he responded: "they clog my toilets".

He was told it’s unacceptable and racist for him to nurture and articulate such low expectations of Gambians. But the Lebanese allegedly retorted: “I don’t care. This is not America”.

When contacted by What's On-Gambia, the La Parisienne manager confirmed they don't have papers in their toilet, but quickly added: "Don't worry, we will fix it."
