A young man has been arrested by the Kairaba Police Station after posing as a semester so he could lure girls into sexual relationships.
Yankuba Sillah allegedly pretended to be a Germany resident, who travels regularly to The Gambia on business trips.
He tricked girls – as well as their families - by wearing flamboyant clothes.
A source said: “He is very cunning. Sometimes, he would have a hand towel around his neck which he used to wipe himself regularly pretending to be struggling with the heat.”
The extraordinary deception began to unravel when Yankuba started taking money from a Manjai Kunda girl promising to pay it back.
“He promised to marry the girl and her family was so excited about it. But only to realise it was all lies,” said the source. “The family alerted the police and he was arrested and detained at the Kairaba Police.”
The source believes there may be other victims. The case is still under police investigations.
