A former student of Kotu Senior Secondary School has become GRTS’ first young hijab-wearing news anchor since the arrival of the ‘New Gambia’.
Isatou Keita got promoted recently to News Anchor of the 8 O’clock News – which is the flagship news program of the national broadcaster’s. Prior to her promotion, she worked as a news reporter, and often produced and presented the triweekly Mandinka magazine, Mengketa, for more than two years.
A source disclosed to What’s On-Gambia that Isatou is also a student at the University of The Gambia’s School of Journalism.
Some of her colleagues described as a hard-working young woman who consistently delivers beyond expectation.
