Meet the most powerful Gambian mulatto

He is unquestionably the most powerful Gambian mulatto in the country right now.

Malleh Sallah is the vice chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), a position he held for more than a decade.

According to the IEC website: “He is a graduate of political science. He served the Commission firstly as Principal Registration Officer and then Director of Operations from 1996-2001.”

It was in 2006 when former president Yahya Jammeh selected him to be the IEC’s vice chairman.

Malleh is also a well-known investor in the tourism sector. He is managing more than three hotels in the Senegambia Strip.

Reports reaching What’s On-Gambia revealed that he recently opened a new hotel called Balafong, which is already attracting Dutch tourists.

Malleh is also the co-owner of Poco Loco Restaurant – one of the most frequented restaurants in the country.
