While most Gambian women are busy competing with one another on who wears the most expensive clothing amongst other things, Yassin Jallow is putting her culinary skills into practice to help revive the neglected Gambian cuisine.

Yassin returned to The Gambia from Canada shortly after President Barrow came to power. She came with the determination to modernise the Gambian cuisine which is struggling to attract international attention. 

She has her own spot which she names after herself—Yassin’s Kitchen and authored a cookery book which is available for pick up online

If the testimonies of those that visited her kitchen are anything to go, Yassin brings a healthier and eye-appealing spin to the meals she serves.

She now has her own show on GRTS and regularly uploads videos on her YouTube channel, which is run by his video producer son, Muhammed Mbowe (Moeblac).
