A top financial official in Equatorial Guinea, Baltasar Ebang Engonga, has sparked a social media firestorm following reports of alleged affairs with hundreds of women, including some of his own staff. 

Leaked videos from his encounters have surfaced online, leading to public outcry and swift government action.

Baltasar, who is married, serves as the director of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF) in Equatorial Guinea. His role within the agency has added to the controversy surrounding the scandal.

In response, Equatorial Guinea's vice president, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue announced a directive on Monday to suspend any civil servant found engaging in sexual activities, describing it as a “flagrant violation of the code of conduct and public ethics law.” 

Obiang also ordered the Ministry of Telecommunications, along with regulatory and telecom companies, to curb the distribution of Baltasar's explicit videos that have proliferated on social media platforms.

As the case continues to unfold, it has fueled ongoing discussions about professional conduct and ethics within public offices in African countries.
