One of the country's most popular national players (name withheld) is facing accusations of hiding his 8-month-old son from the public because he is "ashamed" that he had him out of wedlock.

A source disclosed to What's On-Gambia: "He met the child's mother on Instagram and they started dating when he was playing for an Italian team."

The famous footballer allegedly impregnated the girl after a whirlwind romance. They welcomed their baby in April 2022, and he informed his family and some of his friends.

But the source further revealed that the footballer is hiding the baby from the public.

"He has never shared a photo or video of the baby. Even the baby's mother isn't allowed to introduce the child to the public," said the source, who begged for anonymity.

The footballer was among the youngest stars during the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon. He began his career at Hawks FC before moving to Europe to play for A.C. Chievo Verona in the Italian Seria A.
