The former chairman of the Community of Ghanaians in The Gambia and the vice principal of Nusrat Senior Secondary School, George Kingsley Annan will be laid to rest on Saturday.
The 66-year-old, who has been hailed as the country’s finest Economics teacher, died last month after coming down with a sudden illness.
The funeral service will be held at the Christ Church in Westfield at 12:30 pm and proceed to the Ghana Town Cemetery, where he will be buried.
Born in Ghana in 1952, Mr Annan moved to The Gambia shortly after completing his university education in his home country of Ghana. He was one of the longest-serving teachers at Nusrat.
Some of his former students are currently occupying very senior positions in the Civil Service.
Rest in Peace, George Kingsley Annan!
