West Coast Region’s O Boy and Gambian Child are now the most successful Gambia-based musicians on YouTube, with more videos with one million views than any other musician.

One of the duo’s latest music video, Imam, produced by Lekmedia Filmworks (T Boy), has officially surpassed one million views on the American video sharing website.

Imamis their second video to reach the milestone.

One of their fans in Scotland, Serign B Sanneh said: “Honestly O Boy & Gambian Child if you continue to work like this you could become stars beyond SeneGambia. Language is not a barrier in music anymore, just make good music and people will listen, buy and follow you. I hope you don't stop at YouTube videos but you can start monetising your music online too.”

Another YouTube user, Ninki Nanko Fangbondi wrote: “I like watching your songs/videos you are representing the people of Wuzungu land (Senegambia). You’re not copying any rapper, or Jamaican reggae, this is original. Good piece. I hope all other Gambian singers learn from you.”
