Majula Jeng’s wedding, which involved a lavish reception at Sheraton Hotel –Gambia, cost more than D2m. It wasn’t dubbed the ‘wedding of the year’ for nothing.

The venue, the dress, the shoes, the cake and all the wedding essentials were grossly expensive, according to a source.

What’s On-Gambiaestimated last year that an average wedding in The Gambia cost less than D150, 000. But Majula is not your average girl.  She is known for her love of luxury goods that suggests she leads an extravagant lifestyle.

Who paid for the wedding?

Majula’s husband,  Seun Akinwale is a UK-based Nigerian. According to rumours reaching What’s On-Gambia, he is from a wealthy family.  The couple met through mutual friends in London.

More than 200 guests from England, Nigeria and The Gambia converged at the Sheraton Hotel in January, 2016 for the extravaganza that attracted the attention of the Nigerian online media.

One of Majula’s friends, Isatou Mbouge died in an accident on her way from the wedding venue.   May her soul rest in peace!
