United by love but divided by politics. Ous Touray and Amie Dibba are both bright university graduates with strong opinions.  They are happily married, but when it comes to politics, they don't always see eye to eye.

Ous’ mum was a former minister and currently works as a close aide at the First Lady’s office, whilst Amie’s dad is a staunch UDP supporter.

The couple are a visible example of a phenomenon in The Gambia that is becoming increasingly common.  Families with differing political views!

Following the recent arrest of opposition members for holding a demonstration without permit, the former musician was among the first to take to Facebook condemning the way they were manhandled by security officers.

“This is about freedom. This is about God-given rights. This is about PEACE,” she wrote tagging her husband.

According to Amie, she will not be silent anymore.

Is her new stance likely to jeopardize her marriage?

According to a source close to Ous, the couple are managing their political difference gracefully.
