Rebuttal to Malima Ceesay’s story of a patient being left to die at an A&E

I write to refute vehemently the story written by a Malima Ceesay about the treatment of a victim of road traffic accident at an A&E which according to him resulted in the demise of the patient.

Malima is nothing but a sensationalist, plain and simple.  Which nurse would take five minutes to put on gloves?  ‘To add salt to injury, her supervisor suddenly appears from nowhere…’  How did Malima know the patient was bleeding in her head?

His story was the first issue discussed yesterday morning at our daily morning meeting/briefing; and this is what had happened.

When the victims were brought to the A&E, not just a nurse was on the ground, there were two doctors there too; one for surgical department and another for paediatric department.  The said victim was brought in dead (BID).

Knowing the gravity of her injuries she would have died on the spot at the scene. And if Malima understands the way the TRIAGE SYSTEM works at A&E, he/she would have understood why nobody had to ‘rush’ to the victim when she was brought in after the initial assessment. The second victim was treated accordingly and later released home.
