Reggae singer, Lixen Khan advises young Gambians to safeguard peace

Elections are synonymous to violence in Africa, so when reggae singer Lixen Khan took the stage with less than two months before the presidential elections, he did not hesitate to advise young Gambians to avoid any behaviour that could disrupt the country’s prevailing peace.

He was one of the guest artists at Rebellion D’ Recaller’s Comeback concert held on Friday at the Brikama Boxba.

In front of a crowd of more than 1,500 reggae enthusiasts, the young musician reminded fans of The Gambia’s reputation as one of the most peaceful countries in the world. He told them that it should be everyone’s responsibility to safeguard the prevailing peace.

According to him, he was recently in Europe on a tour, but during his brief stay he has never seen Europeans taking on the streets insulting their leaders and destroying properties.

“I am not a politician!” Lixen told the crowd.

He is one of the promising reggae singers in the country. Lixen launched his career under the guardianship of Benjahmin’s Frontline Crew.
