Gambian music fans are still reeling following Gee’ shock departure, but according to rumours reaching What’s On-Gambia, Sandeng has also quit the music industry.

A source said the talented young singer has parted ways with Humanity Starz, leaving Alieu Joof to continue as a solo artist. There is not yet any official confirmation of this from Sandeng.

“It is kind of weird nak how the artists are turning their backs on Gambian music. It’s not encouraging and the stakeholders seem not bothered,” said the source.

What does Sandeng’s departure mean for the future of Humanity Starz? According to a Gambian music pundit it might be the end of the road for the group, because it is completely impossible for Alieu to fill in for Sandeng’s voice.
