A young woman has alleged that an England-based semester threatened to travel to The Gambia and kill her for rejecting her marriage proposal.

In a message to What's On-Gambia, the young woman wrote:  "I met him on Facebook and we began chatting. He wanted to marry me, but I later realized we were incompatible."

She continued: "When I told him I would not marry him, he started insulting me. When I responded, he threatened to kill me using spiritual means."

In a message to the semester, the girl wrote: "Who do you think you are? Do you think I’m afraid of you? Go to hell with your ridiculous marriage proposal. I’d rather die than marry someone as ignorant as you."

She added: "I will never marry you because you lack discipline and proper home-training."

In retaliation, the semester sent her a WhatsApp audio message threatening to take her to the Jalangs in Mali to end her life.
