In its 2nd season, Wiri Wiri isn’t showing any signs of fading in The Gambia.
The famous Senegalese drama hit on Youssour Ndour’s TFM is attracting tens of thousands of views every week.
According to an observer, Wiri Wiri commands the must TV audience in the country.
The drama, which features Sumbulu, Saneex and even giant musicians like Viviane Ndour, attracts various demographic. A sixth grader, Neneh Drammeh told What’s On-Gambia: “I watch it together with my family. Everyone loves it!”
Another Wiri Wiri fan, Ndey Njie said: “It is a drama with a lot of lessons and I think that is why people are hooked to it.”
However, she added that the timing has played a key role in its success in The Gambia. Wiri Wiri came at a time when many people are switching off on GRTS for foreign TV channels.
