Senegambia Police have arrested Nigerian TikTok content creator Azamama following a wave of public complaints about her online videos.
Police reportedly took action after concerns were raised by social media users, who accused her content of promoting prostitution. Some users also called for her deportation.
Azamama was taken into custody and held briefly at Police Headquarters in Banjul before being released on bail. It remains unclear whether she will face formal charges or appear in court.
Following her release, she has not posted any new content on her TikTok account, which has over 26,000 followers.
In earlier responses to criticism, Azamama denied allegations of sex work, stating that her content is intended to entertain and provoke reactions as part of her work as a digital creator.
She is expected to report back to police in Banjul today at 10am..
