Mr. Emmanuel, a teacher recruited from Kenya to work at one of the country’s most prestigious international schools, has been dismissed following allegations of inappropriate communication with an underage student via WhatsApp.
Screenshots of the alleged conversations surfaced online, sparking widespread outrage among parents and members of the public.
In one of the messages, Mr. Emmanuel compared the student’s beauty to that of Habesha women in northern Ethiopia.
In another message, he wrote: “Please, our flirty language is ours. Never mention it to anyone. Things have a way of turning on their head. I hope you keep our secrets secret.”
The leaked messages led to numerous complaints from concerned parents, prompting the school’s administration to take swift action by terminating Mr. Emmanuel’s employment.
