If you are looking for a job in the Civil Service and you are considering from the list of the public institutions below, you should think twice because you might need the help of a good marabout.

National Water and Electricity Company (NAWEC)

A source disclosed: “I know a boy who was forced to resign after falling ill with a mysterious disease. He even lost his eyesight.”

Gambia Ports Authority (GPA)

It is very a ‘dark place’, where they perform juju on each other. An insider disclosed: “I know some auditors who died mysteriously.”

The Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA)

According to sources, most of the workers at GRA have marabouts to protect them from colleagues who might use supernatural forces to cause them harm and misfortune.

Ministry of Health and Social Welfare

Since international organisations started pumping money into the ministry, they have been using marabouts to eliminate each other.

Ministry of Agriculture

Agriculture is another ‘dark place’, where backstabbing and gossiping are so common.  Recently, the minister refused to work with a permanent secretary who was appointed by the Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service.
