The Minister of Tourism and Culture, Hamat Bah told the National Assembly on Monday that the upcoming tourist season will be promising, adding that The Gambia will become a year-round destination next year.
He was replying to questions from National Assembly Members, among them the leader of the PDOIS party, Hon. Halifa Sallah.
According to Minister Bah: “All the hotels are fully booked with the effort of the government of President Adama Barrow.
He also told lawmakers that FTI Touristik GmbH, one of the biggest tour operators in Europe, is resuming operations in The Gambia after falling out with the former government.
The minister revealed that the Germany-based tour operator will build two new hotels and also provide training for Gambians who are interesting in working in the tourism sector.
Hon. Bah said his ministry is poised to make The Gambia one of the most sought-after destinations in Africa.
