The truth about leaked video showing Saihou Drammeh with stacks of money

The former Managing Director of Gam Petroleum, Saihou Drammeh might soon appear in court for economic crimes along with his ex-operations manager Lamin Gassama.

Saihou, who had an uneasy relationship with the government, was sacked last year following allegations that he was secretly selling some of the country's fuel stock to businessman Abubacarr Jawara.

While he awaits trial, a video has emerged online showing him counting euro and dollar banknotes. The former Ndow's Comprehensive student is still a multi-millionaire.

But the video, which is still making the rounds on social media, sparked the ire of many Gambians, who are now demanding to know exactly how and where Saihou got those fat stacks of cash.

The video was leaked by Abubacarr Jawara's team as they try to publicly absolve the businessman of any wrongdoing in the fuel sale scandal.

"They leaked the video to online media outlets and online political activists to assist them in showing that the former Gam Petroleum boss was involved in fraudulent and dishonest activities," said a source.

He added: "The AG Chambers recommended that Abubacarr Jawara should also be charged for economic crimes, but one Kimbeng K Tah is trying to block that from happening."

How did Abubacarr Jawara's team get the video?

A source, who begged for anonymity, revealed the video was handed to the business tycoon’s team by one of Saihou's friends. He said:" the guy who took the video was the one who gave it to Abubacarr's team. They have more damning evidence against Saihou."
