Rising dancehall singer Star Girl was rushed to the hospital after allegedly consuming a tampered Don Simon drink.

One of her friends disclosed to What's On Gambia, "She was poisoned at the Best of the Best concert, which took place at QCity on May 11.

"Star Girl was one of the artists who performed at the event in front of thousands of Gambian music fans. While backstage, two girls who claimed to be her fans gave her the Don Simon drink.

"She accepted the drink because Star Girl is very down-to-earth and enjoys interacting with fans. She did not want to disappoint them."

The dancehall singer, who is frequently criticized for singing explicit lyrics and showing skin, shared pictures of herself in the hospital, claiming that someone wanted to end her life.
