Thousands of Gambians from different regions of the country descended on the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Saturday night to raise money for the United Democratic Party (UDP).
The party, which claims to be the biggest in the country, wants to win the 2021 presidential election.
A statement from the UDP shortly after the event read: "The United Democratic Party from its inception has been funded and governed by its party members and supporters. Last night, we held a historic and well-attended fundraising event with renowned artists from The Gambia and the subregion.
"We as a party thank everyone who has taken their time, energy and wealth to keep the party going."
The UDP leader, Ousainou Darboe and most of his executive members attended the concert, which was headlined by the king of Kora, Jaliba Kuyateh.
Funds raised by the concert will go towards the party's 2021 presidential campaign.
