Budding TikToker Alima Wally has apologized for calling Awa Gambia ugly and claimed she is one of the singer's biggest fans.

Alima, who has less than 6,000 followers on the video-sharing social media platform, said last week that although the "Meuno Ci Mane Dara" hitmaker has a beautiful voice, she is ugly.

After coming under fire, Alima apologized in a TikTok video that garnered over 40,000 views in less than 24 hours. "I was just joking. I don't wish anything bad on her."

She disclosed Awa is her cousin and said she is looking forward to the singer's album launching on October 22 at the Penchami Hall.

One of Alima's followers commented: "Just an advice sister, some jokes are damaging. The girl is very young and has a career ahead and social media is dangerous. Please, try to protect her."

Another wrote: "Just know that Awa Gambia is powerful. Next time know what to say."

Awa Gambia is one of the most popular female singers in the country right now. She has over 2 million views on YouTube. Her newest music video, ”All Eyes On me” featuring ST gathered more than 100,000 views in less than 24 hours.
