A photo of Basiru Mbye looking unhappy while standing with President Adama Barrow seemed to indicate that the U-20 captain doesn’t like the president.
The Gambian leader met Basiru and his teammates last week to congratulate them on winning the 2018 West African Football Union (WAFU) under 20 Zone A Nations Cup that was held in Liberia.
But the captain was not thrilled to be in the State House. He refused to smile for the camera, which led people to wonder; maybe he is not a fan of the president.
Barrow, who was flanked by several dignitaries among them Youth and Sports Minister Henry Gomez and Gambia Football Federation (GFF) President Lamin Kaba Bajo, promised to support Gambian football.
He donated D250, 000 to the boys.
